COOKSLIM HEALTHY RECIPES is a menu with a difference. The collection includes Mediterranean dishes, vegetarian dishes, and a mixture of healthy tasty foods which will satisfy any appetite. All recipes are low in calories, so staying healthy and slim is not an effort with the added bonus that you will feel good and so be more active. Some are traditional Spanish dishes passed on from my dear mother and some recipes which have come from years of interest in cooking. You will be using the powerful refreshing herbs to flavour your meals. All oils used in recipes are cold pressed extra virgin oils. The use of celtic sea salt which I love because not only does it make food taste better, it allows me to actually use salt in my foods. I use organic or farm fresh produce, the less chemicals and pesticides the better and GMO free products.

The meals provide a balanced diet consisting in a balance of raw foods, fibre, proteins and carbohydrates. The CookSlim recipes are delicious every time. Meals that take minimal amount of time to prepare, no handling food to make it look pretty on your plate. Healthy meals that will delight because they look naturally appetising, even a fussy eater will enjoy eating. Don’t reach for the phone and order take out food, set aside the little time needed to prepare healthy meals for your family. Don’t eat a food in excess because its good for you, as you can create imbalances in your body and you health will suffer. Eat in moderation, variety is the best so that you get all the nutrients your body needs to stay healthy.

A recipe for you to try:

COOKSLIM HEALTHLY RECIPE
 
LAMB with RICE NOODLES
 
1 pkt 400g Rice Noodles
1 tsp curry paste
2 tbsp coconut milk/cream
½ tsp salt
400g Lamb strips, thinly sliced (or use tin soya beans or grilled tofu)
4 cups mixed vegetables of your choice
2 Tbsp Lemon juice
2 Tbsp roasted cashews
2 Tbsp olive oil or coconut oil
 
 Method
Cook the noodles as directed on the packet, drain and toss in a bowl with teaspoon of olive oil or coconut oil.
Heat oil in wok or fry pan. When very hot add Lamb strips ( or grilled tofu) until just cooked then add salt and curry paste, mix well, then add coconut milk/cream and set aside.
Add vegetables to pan with a little oil, Cook for 1-2 minutes reduce heat to medium and cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Remove the lid add the noodles, lemon juice and lamb (or tofu).
Mix lightly together, heat through.
Serve hot with a sprinkle of cashew nuts.

 
Why did I decided to present the CookSlim recipes? Well I grew up in a household that meals where prepared fresh everyday. Everyday we sat down to three lovely prepared meals and I grew up healthy and full of energy.

As we get older we tend to get busy with study, career and our own families. Fast paced lives with sedentary jobs and eating take-out takes its toll on our health. I started to think about how the world has changed it’s food production and our environmental changes which affect us all and the realization that our health suffers due to imbalances in the choice of foods we make and the nutritional changes that have occurred due to environmental changes.
 
My focus has been between food, culture, and the environment, and how these changes can affect our health. Agriculture, production, distribution and consumtption of foods have been affected cross-culturally. Food represents human livilihoods, biology, identity, and cultures.
 
Proper nutrition is essential to maintain health and maintaining health which is a challege to us all due to biodiversity, due to environmental changes and man-made changes to food supply. Food and nutrition are the most important aspect for human survival.

I have come to realize that we don’t need three course meals to stay healthy. That less food of good quality and nutritional value is more important. Our lifestyles, cultures, traditions dictate how much food we consume.

 
I went back to preparing healthy meals and I lost 30 kilos over a six months period without even trying. All I did was eat healthly and varied meals. I stay away from  all take out meals and I feel better than I have for a long time.
 
I have more energy so I just take long walks everyday which help put some tone back my muscles. I do not do any aggressive and tiring exercise routines , walking is the safest and most effective for cardiovascular and musculoskeletal health for anyone losing weight.
